Made the run from Lorain on Wed. for my last shot at the the Steelies. Had a great time. 5 1/2 hrs of fishing, 20 of 29 hookups on the bullits and had 6 eyes too. Long run, but well worth it. Started at the 52/52 line and trolled SW for about 4 miles then pulled rods and ran back to same starting point and circle trolled about a 3/4 mile area and had a blast. Some of the best runs and jumps that I have seen. Only thing that didn't work were the boards both 20 and 30 jets. Best were the riggers at 33' and the other at 52'. Dipsies #1 @ 90-100, #2 @ 125-135, and #3 140-145. No big spoons, all on scorpions or silver streak (orange crushed ice). Perfect conditions and the fishing great. All except 2 bullits ran from 7-10 lbs. If you get a chance, and you don't mind spending some $$$$$ on gas, that's the place to be.

Nice Catch and thanks for the report. I've played with the bullets the last two weekends in that same general area. Going back to eyes this weekend.

ETC, I was going to make that run to the 54/54 line today; but I saw nasty 3-5 footers instead outside the breakwall. Tried for eyes for a few hours on the sandbar in Lorain instead and caught 4 before my partner started chumming. I hope the steelies hold in that area, since I may try again Tuesday or Wednesday.

Not fun to run that either way when the the waves pick up. Got caught on Aug. 2 out there when the forecast was SW @ 10 knots or less, and it became 5-7 footers instead. Good decision to wait for another day to make the run.
