Went out of Buffalo's Small Boat Harbor on 8/24, about 8:30 AM. Ran out to near the Canadian Border, about 1.5 miles West of the "A-can" (Bell Bouy), and started trolling West, parallel to the border. Had boards and flat lines out. Picked up a nice 15 in. smallie, on a Chart. / lt. green Rattle Trap, flatlined out about 175 ft., w/ a 2oz. snap weight about 40 feet from the lure. Also boated a 21 in. walleye, on a purple Renosky, off a board, w/ a 2 oz. snap weight about 40 ft. from the lure, then 100 ft. from weight to board.
Both fish were hooked in water 49 - 51 feet deep. We quit about 11:30 AM, when we were about 7 mi from Sturgeon Pt.. Nice weather:
not too hot. freshening wind, but calm to about 1 ft. waves - a great morning!
