I'm looking for a fresh report on how well the Walleyes are bitting on these two lakes. Also interested in some tips on possible spots for mid September. Thanks in advance.

Fishing has been very very good. Both day and night fishing we've done well we were on a very nice school of eyes out in Keweenaw bay trolling cranks and spinners but the fish moved. If your looking for untouched virgin waters this is most definitly a place to explore, this is my first summer and spring fishing these fish out in the bay.

I've yet to fish Huron Bay in the summer but I know of several decent reports out from the bay, same deal no one is fishing it. Huron is awesome in the spring for post spawn drop back fish but then they scatter in the bay.

Both Pier heads and surrounding area's are good (for bigger fish) so long as there is bait to hold the fish. Lots of small fish 15-20 inchers on the weeds edges all over the entire lake from dreamland to the canal's.

The basin bite has been good trolling boards, and all of the traditional spots as well, humps, fingers, points etc...The fish are all over the entire system. Also some very good spots to the north of the bridge in Hancock and near MI Tech, Julio's, the marina and bridge. But like anywhere else they move, depending on currents and wind etc...

We've done very well with Hot N tots and bomber's in purple prisom type baits. I would also try to fish the river mouth fish can stack up BIG time! and there are a few nice holes and flats up the river that are supposedly holding fish. I will be fishing them probably tomorrow since it's sooo windy.

Are you fishing in the tourney?

Ty, do you guide in the area? I have a dear hunting camp in Kenton and would like to try fishing Portage when I come up in September. Would you send me an e-mail at jforgash@premierplastic.com
