thinking about buying a fruno frv667? are they any good?
Ther are internationally very well known as having an excellent reputation. They aren't sold locally in lots of areas and simply don't have a very large fresh water following - but in fact are excellent depth finders.
Take care

p.s.
Before purchasing -- insure that you have good hooks in place for service -- if ever required.

Just used one on a boat down in the Florida Keys -- it worked very well. I run a video graph (MarineTek) and think it is better, but the Furuno did everything it was supposed to.
In general video graphs generally have 2 big drawbacks that hinder them on the average fishing boat:
1) Can't be seen in daylight -- even with the sun sheilds most come with, it is a challenge in an open boat. I have mine in an electronics box in my center console under a T-Top and both early and late day sunlight make it difficult.
2) They units are not water proof and consequently need to be mounted away from spray and weather. Again, not well suited for most "walleye" boats.
