We fished out of E 72nd St. today from 9:00 - 12:00 and then went in to watch the Air Show. The bite was steady with many double headers. The fish were very small. Most were 6" - 8". We caught a couple 11" fish. We were straight North in 53'.
I have never seen so many ignorant and inconsiderate at the launch ramp. I'm to tired to type about what these idiots were doing in front of us. This ramp needs to be redesigned and supervised by a traffic director.

Tom,
About the same for us, we probably got 100+ perch in 3hrs at C Can Sunday but only kept 31 and they werent much either. The water is cooling down some those big boys should be rounding up in a few weeks Id guess.

Give me a call. I'm interested in seeing how you did for the eyes. The air show was awsome.

I also launched from E.72nd Sunday, and will agree with you on the events that were taking place at the ramps. Getting into the water wasn't too bad, people were being generous to open ramps, and a bit patient with those that were obviously new to the area. After a day of fishing with the group north of ramps in 53' of water, catching a limit of perch a bit smaller than usual, the show at the ramps kept me and my crew amazed. The one that I am still wondering about was a guy deciding to use one of the highest docks to dock a 18' open-bow craft. Once he was in the dock, he allowed the boat to get side-ways, then took forever getting out of the boat onto the dock due to the 4' step he had to make from the gunnel. There are docks there that allow easy docking for the smaller boats, and the higher ones allow the bigger boats easy acces. One of the reasons this guy is so amazing is that when I first entered the port, the lower docks were in use, but one emptied out, and I left it empty waiting for one of the higher ones that would allow easier docking for my 26', and this guy came right into port and shot right in front of me. I too feel the relief of knowing that soon all the fair-weather boaters will have called it quits, then the real, or is it reel fishermen will be the only ones out. Well enough of the grief, time to get back to reading the reports, if you look closely, you may see that I included one in this post.
