The last five days at Lake Sharpe have been excellent. (weather, wind and water) After two days of trying to coax walleyes to jigs, lindy rigs, bare hooks, with minnows and nightcrawlers near Fort George, I decided to speed troll crank baits to locate the eyes. Worked my way from shallow to 17 feet, then using lead core we cranked WallyDivers (silver/blue) and Manns Walleye Divers (red/orange) and struck pay dirt at 17 feet.
With all of the other fisherman in the area I used waypoints to keep us in an area the size of a football field near the pump shed. We limited out shortly thereafter, all at the top end of the slot and catching our limit of the over 18 inch.
We then focused our attention on the gulls feeding nearby and got into a feeding frenzy of large white bass using castmasters and white twistertail jigs on ultra lights. Caught over a hundred white bass within an hour. Most of the time we were all hooked up. There were even walleyes mixed in with the bass.
