Hi Guys: I am planning a drive to Lake Erie for Sunday - Dad's birthday, weather permitting. In the Vermillion to Huron area, we have only launched out of Cranberry Creek Marina. No offense to those folks, but the parking situation is very limited and my Dad is handicapped. We are looking for directions to other boat ramps that are close to the good fishing. Thanks for the help and good fishing. O F

South side of the big silver bridge, and just OFF of rt. 6. I'm not sure where Cranberry Creek is located, but if you're coming in from the West, on rt. 6, you'll see a fork in the road just before the big bridge (stop and go lights there)...go to the right, and the launch is there on your left. Nice facility. If you need live bait, there is a big red building, SW & kitty corner to the launch, that sells minnows. I don't know the name of it.

If your coming in from the East...you can figure it out. ;-)

It is on the south side of the road just west of the silver bridge tat is for the vermillion launch!

Also you can launch in Huron. Just across the road to the south of the Gull motel. The name is Walski's (I think). I don't have his number with me know but someone may post it $5.00.The docks are not the best!

I would also like to wish you good luck and hope for some good weather.

I have used all three of the ramps mentioned in the posts. Vermilion is by far the best for what you need. Good ramps easy, easy access for those in need, and some very friendly & helpful people run the ramp.
Directions: from Route 2 exit @ RT 60 North go to the T in the road. Turn right and go straight till it T's (don't follow RT 60) The ramp is directly ahead of you. Dry Dock on your right has bait and a block north (left) the Worm-man has bait also There is a bait shop (Ted's I think??)on Rt 60 on the right about a mile off Rt 2. Ask for the emerald shiners.
I also highly recommend deli at the Shell station on Rt60 for sandwiches for lunch. We stop there almost every trip.

Check out this web site for the wind & waves. (The lake is angry tonight)

Good luck and good fishing,

Cranberry is located between Vermilion, and Huron on rt 6, it is on the north side of the road. it is a new ramp and a nice one too. For the use that you want the best one would be in Vermilion though. good luck and good fishin.

Thanks for the info! I will try Vermillion next time out with my Dad. Cranberry is good and the people are very friendly, but need easy access for the old guy. Good fishing. O F
