Huron Booster's Tourney RESULTS

Huron Fundraiser Results
Here are the results (no computer for me on the weekends - I spend too much time in front of it during the week).
First - I'd like to thank everyone that supported the event by fishing it and of course the sponsors that donated over $1000 as well as some nice prizes so we could guarantee good payouts. We ended up with 40 teams and 120 total people ended up fishing the event. 31 teams entered the optional Big Fish contest.
Entry fees raised $6000 (120 x $50 per person)
Big Fish entries raised $1500 (31 x $50 teams)
50% of the entry fees went to the Huron Athletic Boosters Club. We were able to raise $3750 for the kids!
The following businesses donated cash and / or prizes:
South Shore Marine, Reef Runner Tackle, Huron IGA, ACE Hardware,Berardis Resturaunt,Gull Motel,Huron Sports Center,Huron Lagoons Marina, Holiday Harbor Marina, Cranberry Creek Marina, Royal Carribean Cruises.
For a first time event we were happy with the results - learned a few things we will do differently next year to make things easier during registration and weighin. We do plan to make this an annual event. I've gained a new respect for all tournament directors - a lot more to it than meets the eye. Also a big thanks to the volunteers from the Huron Booster Club during registration and weighin and the members of the Huron Freshman Footbal Team for assisting with the weighin and with docking the boats.
Steve Nofltz from South Shore Marine and the Huron Boosters Club approached me with the idea of doing the tournament as a fundraiser and Steve coordinated everything with the Booster Club and also solicited the donations from the local businesses.
Also a big thanks to Doug Steinwart and his staff at The Huron Boat Basin for all the help.
Thanks to Denny Braun from the Sportsman's Outpost for providing the bumpboard for measuring fish, and for spreading the word about the tournament and the fishing reports.
Big Fish Contest:
12.4# 30 3/4" Erie Therapy Team - Ray Vargo, Jim Forbes, Bob Tolliver, Don Andress collected $465 and a large assortment of Reef Runner Lures.
11.0# 30 1/4" Shirley B team - Pete Bogdan, John Bogdan, Dominik Ritz, John Econonus collected $232.50 and a Raymarine VHF radio.
10.4# 29 3/4" Blue Dolphin Team - Gary Zart, Brandon Zart, Wayne Jesionowski, Miguel Valencia collected $77.50 and a grab bag from Royal Carribean cruiseline.
Tournament Results 5 fish by weight.
