Lake Shamineau is a deep clear lake with a very good walleye population - the only problem being they are challenging to catch. Live bait rigging is the method of choice - 1/2 or 3/8oz weight and #6 hook with 6-8ft leader and either a leech or crawler. It's very difficult to livebait rig prior to sunset - perch and sunfish will absolutely eat you out of house and home! What I do is begin trolling deep little rippers about 6pm along the bar in front of Auger's resort following the 22ft contour line - then when the sun sets I begin livebait rigging on the same bar. It is a fun lake to fish but recreational boat traffic can be a real pain during the weekends.
