Kellys Island walleye report - 03Jan04

For those who wanted but didn't get out on the Lake today, you didn't miss much catching, at least where I fished. Fished the north part of Kelly's for a few hours till dark and couldn't get them to go. Took a while to find any marks at all. I did find some nice pockets of fish in 33 f.o.w., with the fish suspended around 25 feet. The water was extremely clear and the lake was flat as a pancake. It was a nice day to be on the lake regardless, especially for JANUARY!

Did you try jigging for them or were trolling???

I only trolled, though I would have jigged if I had found minnows localy that day.

Herbs on Catawba Island toward West Harbor had shiners a few weeks ago and I have got them in the past for ice fishing.
