rick the allegheny got blown open with the last rains we got but right now its high and muddy kinda like it was the last time we were there, i think next week should be a good bet on being able to fish, i talked with JB last night and him and jeff are bitin at the bit waiting to get on the river and so is capt todd the wolfman, if things stay the way they are right now i,ll be there next saturday along with i would guess several other boats, i,ll post something later in the week but if you are coming and launching at 13th street i would say bring a shovel so you can get rid of the 2 or 3 feet of muck thats going to be on the launch, talk with ya later, on a side note a few buddies cof mine are doing quite well on the steelies thur the ice up at elk creek.

hey tom,
good to hear from ya.i've always herd about the guys ice fishing up there. this might sound like a dumb question but where do they ice fish for them at? in the slow stretches of river or do they fish close to shore in the lake. do they use the same stuff that is used in the river for bait or spoons. give me a hollar later in the week. the ice fishing has been real hit or miss. not a whole lot of limits out there. went to pymy saturday and between 5 of us all veteran ice goroos, only two fish. 1 18", 1 2-3 pounder. tried off ohio swim beach' and above stocker isl. its been a crazy year. most guys have been real tight lipped up hear. talk to ya later glad to hear that your ready for the river. rick

rick, their fishing at the mouth of elk where it goes into the lake, buddie says there a good 10 inches of ice where they are fishing, far as bait goes its the same stuff they always use spoons, jigs tipped with maggots or minnies or just minnies. talk to ya later in the week.

Tom,
You can't let a little thing like a swollen knee stop you from fishing...can you? :) Keep us updated on the river. I'd like to silp over there soon and check it out.
Tim
Hay Tom, how do think those fish feel when you jerk their head about off with them treble hooks?:D River is looking pretty good down this way. Only problem here is finding a place to put in. All the ramps have a ton of mud on them and the citys a little slow on cleaning up. Sent my check for 35 bucks to Harrisburg Tues. Sure glad I dont hunt in Pa. Sent a money order today to DOW Ohio for 189 bucks. 40 for fishing, 125 for hunting and another 24 for turkey. Bout broke me. Have to wait till deer season to get the rest. :( Them fish otta be laying in there thick. Take care of them knees, and keep us posted.:-)
