The Michigan season closure is limited to Lake Erie only. The St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair and Detroit River regs are unchanged for 2004.

The Detroit river is still open for wallys year round , however, the size limit has been raised to 15 inches and the bag limit has been reduced from 6 to 5 fish. Lake StClair and the StClair river still has a 13 inch size limit but reduced the bag limit to 5 fish also.

Hey pr,

I know these guys that posted, not only do I concur but we would all be in the fish jail this spring if that were the case....lol

Spring fishing and the Detroit River go hand in hand.

Perchjerker, the gentlemen that is speaking this month (March) at the DWF meeting, also spoke at the Huron Valley Steelheaders last month. Answered lots of questions about the new walleye regulations. I will give the man credit, he took all questions and responded back. I still disagree with him on the new regs though.

Thanks. I will try to make it to the meeting.

Was the guys name Brad Wurfel by chance?

He's the press secretary for the MDNR, I spoke with him last year when the regs were announced about a few questions guys on the board had, he was very helpful.

No, the guy they announced who would be speaking from MDNR at the next DWF meeting is Gary Towns. Hope to see you there.
