Anyone hitting the railroad bridge yet. I was wondering what with the new regulations if anyone was even bothering. With that water being so muddy i question if jigs could ever be a viable method. I agree with the regs as the blades snagged a lot of fish, but many were legally caught also. (Although probably many more illegally harvested). Just wondering if it would be worth the trip.
Thanks in advance

Why at night? Geno, a friend and a very strict warden, lives at the end of that bridge and loves to take midnight strolls down it especially with night vision goggles. Be afraid be very afraid. He even gave his mother a ticket when she had 31 perch...

Give it a rest. Sure-some of those fish caught in the river are snagged, but they will bite. Jacks on the reefs bite jigs, or blades (which explains why they are usually hooked in the mouth). Why do some people think they wouldn't do the same thing in the river?

Give the guy a break, he said he would be out there tonight through the weekend -- he's starting tonight because he's off work and will fish through the weekend! If you're that suspecious it makes me suspecious of why you're so suspecious!

I have fished under that bridge illegally and legally back when the only way I could catch a 12 pounder was to snag it. I fished under there in every kind on condition. I do not want to get anybody upset with any of my opinions especially when it sounds like some people are ragging it, but here it goes anyway. On a good night under the bridge you will hook into 40 fish and land 20 with vibeez. Out of the 20 maybe if you are very lucky one fish will have the jig or lure in its mouth. Around 2 of the fish you could argue if they are legal or not all the rest are illegal. The guy will be going out there with 3 inches of visibility(on a good day) with a single hook at night and he wont catch jak until that 12 pounder comes to the boat that he snagged in the bunghole. If he throws the fish back he is a true sportsman. Yes fish bite in the river, but not often in the bay. If the water is clear go home because that means there is no current and the fish are not gonna be there. When the fishing is good there is an east or west wind at 30 miles an hour and there are 4 footers crashing under the bridge and very few fish can see a jig with no visibility at all , not even smell it with a gallon of pro cure on it. Walleyes will not be under there when it is calm. That is my 2 cents.

The new regulations say dusk to dawn fishing is PROHIBITED for
walleye in Sandusky Bay and the other Rivers. You get caught
plan on losing dollars and more.
