Has anyone compared using real leeches to the powerbait leech. When walleyes are really going we go thru a pound of the real thing fast, plus at $20 to $30 a pound my wife things I'am crazy. Oh well.

If you are on a hot bite, try the plastic. If it works as well as the live bait, stick with it. You'll probably find that you'll be wasting less time and getting your hook back into the water faster. Every year I seem to be using more and more power baits and other similar products. If the bite slacks off, go back to live bait and fish slower. Whenever possable have one guy using plastic while the other guy uses live bait. That should tell you what's working.
