Hello, it’s Monday evening and we had a lot better day here at Lake Erie today. It was a little windy yet this morning, but the sun was shinning, and it was warmer. The wind died down as the day went along. There is hardly any now. I guess the weather is going to stabilize now for a week or so. Looks like we won’t have too much wind like we have had for the last week. The sun is supposed to shine everyday thru Saturday and it looks like thru next week too. The air temperature is supposed to be in the 50’s and lows in the 30’s. The water temperature is just over 40 degrees. The walleyes are spawning now, and there have been several big females caught, also a lot of jacks too. The weather just hasn’t been good enough for us to get out very often. When the wind did let up long enough the water was muddy from the wind. They are catching fish in the muddy water though, just not like they would if it was cleaner. The water should clear up this week. This should be a good fishing week or so. They are catching monster perch when they get out, right off the lighthouse on the end of Marblehead. They were getting their limit of 30 per person before the wind started blowing Saturday. Bill and Glen from Delaware were here again all last week. They come to lake Erie every year at this time for a week and fish. They got wet from the rain about every day, and they didn’t go out everyday, but they took home a couple pretty big bags of fish fillets. They were catching walleyes and perch both off Marblehead. They were catching the walleyes on their perch spreaders using minnows. Well I guess I am telling you that it is ok to come fishing here now, but you know how this spring weather is. I hope we don’t get stung. Good fishing & good luck, Don. (compliments of hiwaybait.com)
