My hat is off to the directors of the WWA for running such a quality tournament this past weekend. I was thoroughly impressed with how well things went and how well everything was planned out. These people (Mike, Steve, Melissa, Brad, and others) have definitely been involved in tournaments before and know what it takes to put on a quality event/association. I look forward to being involved in other events and would recommend participating and supporting this organization. I look forward to wearing your logo and being involved with your association again in the future.

My two cents

Well run contest as always from Mike and Renee Holt. Two of the hardest working, efficient people around. From the questions at the ramp and the looks on the water, many hooks stayed on the fence. They could have weighed 10-12 pounds, many claimed. They do not count, unless you put your money down. The Griz, Sternberg lession was worth the entry alone, that kind of weight is they only way to take a good check this coming weekend. WWA pay out was 80% of $140 to the dollar. $10 of the $150 is to the conservation fund, basically money to keep the host areas happy and should be done. The future is bright for the WWA.

The count on their web site was 23 entries on Sat. and 21 on Sun. I wonder if they feel that is a success? Just wondering.

TBO,

We sure do feel that our inaugural events in Red Wing were a success. We know that our goals and objectives were met by all the positive feedback from the anglers.

Wasn't being critical, was just wondering if the WWA had set goals and if they were met. If so, congratulations, and all the best of luck for future events. My partner and I were contemplating fishing your circuit this year, but decided to wait and see.....next year possibly!

Thanks for the report.

Any one check made it worth the effort, for the anglers. The way it should be. Lines-up.

Congratulations to Mike and Renee Holt at their first WWA tournament. We heard they did an excellent job without recourse. There is always room for quality tournaments like USFA's Team Walleye Trail. Good luck.

Mike and Renee did do a great job. It was plain to see at Red Wing that the WWA knows what the anglers want and how to run a tournament. It is also plain to see that it was well organized and run by indivduals that have actually fished tournaments before. Their payout schedule is unbelievable. First place on Saturday was $911 for a field of 23 teams. That is awesome! The way I see it, the WWA Team Challenge circuit is the quality tournament trail. I am staying with the WWA all the way!

How many fish can a team weigh in 5 or 10? There are only 3 teams caught more than 10lbs. 2 teams got 0 fish to weigh. My 15 year old kid and I caught 12 fish that would go 20lbs. at least. We should have entered. Is the tournement for beginers or pro? Most of the teams caught less than 5lbs. Thats a pro.?

Until you belly up to the bar and lay down your entry fee it's just all talk. Give it a try next time you and your son will probably have a great time.

Best Regards,

Pick up a copy of the rules and regulations for several tournaments and compare all of them. Check out the entry fees, pay-outs, points, championships, membership, rules, substitutions, practice, networking or not networking (sharing of information). Decide for yourself. It's a good time in any assocaiation / league. Maybe the distance you have to travel is a key factor. Either way it is a good idea to get involved. As to what constitues a pro or an amatuer, we had that dicussion two months ago, let it rest.

Is there a website to get this information? I am interested in possibly getting involved.

Thanks for the information. LOL

whats your deffinition of a pro!
ask anyone who fishes the pwt and they will tell you that the only differance bettween a pro and an amature is money! there are a lot of good hooks that cant afford to pay entry fees

I would think that most of them do have a website. If you are interested in the WWA or MWC
try these two
