There is no closed season, we have been hammering the fish at the first trench, harnesses back 45 feet from the board. Caught several 28in and bigger, loads of 20 to 24 inchers. You have to love THE BIG POND! Have Fun

This page http://sites.state.pa.us/PA_Exec/Fish_Boat/fishpub/summary/lakeerie.html
says the season is: Jan. 1 through March 14 and May 3 through Dec. 31
with a size limit of 18 inches and a daily limit of 4.
I'm not meaning to pick a fight.
Have a good day.

There might be some confusion between some of you. I think the first post should distinguish if he means In Ohio, or Pa. There is a Walnut Creek in both states.
The reference to the first trench sound like Pa? Kinda early for the fish to be there at this time anyway. Someone IS trolling! :)

We have been launching at Presqule (sp)? Since the launch needs dreged, but we are crushing the eyes, and you say its to early for the eye to be there? Just remember this my one toothed pal ' The early bird gets the worm " We are using harnesses and REEF RUNNERS " keep *****in and several of us will not post reports!!!!!

I do not know this Whittip or what his game is but for future reference you can surely discount what he says in any report. First of all it's Presque Isle (state park) and second the walleye season is closed. I live right at Presque Isle and no one is going out to the first trench for anything. Most guys are fishing in the bay for perch and crappie or shallow in the lake for steelhead the bait is on the beach!!!!

Gentleman, Mr. Carbo is in the trees at the launch, he monitors your every move...... Please Mr. Carbo, unless you are a merman, not a mermaid, dont get mad because anglers are catching your fish. That is what this board is for to share techniques and info so we ALL can catch fish. SHUT UP AND FISH!!!!!
