Need Help with SHIMANO Spirex/ Sahara SPOOLS

I have 4 Shimano Spinning Reels
1 Older Spirex 2000 Rear Drag
1 Newer Spirex 2000 Rear Drag

1 Newer Spirex 2000 Front Drag
1 Newer Sahara 2000 Front Drag.

ON the rear Drag Reels all the extra metal spools fit on both reels, but the newer spools are a bit longer. I also have 2 Graphite Spools and they are a bit Shorter. The line roller lines up and the reels seem to work fine with any spool, but the spool length has me confused. Also the angle/"lip" on the top of the spools are slightly different Are older Spirex Spools compatable with new Spirex Reels?

Same Problem with Newer Sahara and Spirex Front Drag. The Spirex spool is a bit shorter than Sahara, but all fit and work well. Thanx in Advance..

Maybe not. I bought some new Shimanos last year, and their spools were not interchangable with older Shimanos of that same type I had already owned. Bummer.
