Fished the river yesterday, saturday, caught 4 eyes, biggest one 6 lbs, 11 really nice smallies, 2 - 4 lbs and 1 12 lb coho. I fished around Wyandotte. All the fish but the Coho were across from Inland Steel. It looked like a lot of other anglers were getting fish but once the front went through,I did not do so well. All in all, I would say it was really good.,but I love smallies...a whole lot better than eyes.

Three of us fished Saturday on the Canadian side, 22 to 28 fow, water temp 51 degrees. Landed 14 of 17 before noon, with half of them 4 to 6 lbs. Jig color didn't matter, used brown and black plastic worm. Recommend getting out whenever you can over the next couple of weeks.

Millertime,

The water is not exactly clean with the rain and wind we last the last few days. I fished the river last night with a friend and limited out by 9:30 pm. Even lost 4 nice fish at the back of the boat which brings last nights total to 10 for 14.

After trying most of the lures in my "A" box the most productive color/pattern was Chartruse/White or Clown #7 and #9 Rapalas. Even took one fish on a #9 Firetiger too.

Sunday afternoon 3 of us limited in 4 hours drifting in front of the steel plants. Mostly small males, but had three over 6lbs. One female was dropping eggs all over. Most fish came on orange jig and brown worm. Half came on stingers. We also saw one nice sturgeon landed and another guy had one on at same time but lost it. Nice afternoon since most of weekend sucked.
Best day fishing so far this season.
