View Full Version : Raytheon 425 chartplotter
I'm leaning heavily toward purchasing the Raytheon 425 chartplotter. I mainly fish inland waters with 2-3 trips per year to the great lakes. I would appreciate any comments pro or con on my potential choice. I've also considered the Lowrance 3000 but for my needs, I think the Raytheon will do fine. Am I making a mistake. Any imput appreciated.
I also like what I am reading about the new 425 gps/mapping unit that utilizes the new WASS system that Raytheon developed for the FAA. I haven't seen any of the 425's for sale yet, would anyone know what the price on these units?
Boats US has it listed for $599 - though it is not available yet (timing is the first of March)

I just bought one and you can get them at http://www.boatfix.com/elec/raygps.asp for $589. The Navionics people are going to soon be releasing over 100 new Hotmaps which you can use with this unit.
I've used a 420D for over a year now and it's been a good unit.Lots of features, good size screen, and easy to master.Would deffinitely recommend Raytheon.....
