Is it too early for some reports??? I am going up the first week of July (boy, am I pushing this summer or what???) and am starting to get the itch. Anything starting to happen to the east, or are the walleye locked in to the central basin still? I will gladly take anything about colors, presentation, etc. as they usually hold true to the east as well, except for depths, if I am not mistaken. BTW, I didn't do too bad at Lake Ontario, Black River and surrounding bays, except for 1 day that we did't catch any walleye (plenty of action with Northerns, perch and huge Sheepies, though), we caught 9 walleye in the 4 days we were there, including 1- 31" pig.

Walt..Wish I could help, but I haven't hit it yet. It should be just about time though! We should see some reports coming in from Gilligan and the boys pretty soon. I'm leaving for the n/e corner of Ontario (Mud Bay) this afternoon. I hope you left a few for us! I'll post when we get back! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Try the following NY DEC site for a weekly report on Eastern Lake Erie, and the Niagara River:

http://www.dec.state.ny.us/website/dfwmr/fish/hotline.html

I imagine that with the big Southtown's Walleye tournament starting tomorrow (and going on for the next week)the fishing reports will be even fewer than normal, for the Eastern end of Lake Erie.

Fishing has been slow....guys I know that have been out have been
reporting 2-3 fish as good trip. Renosky's most mentioned, particularly the new colors.

Sluggo-GOOD LUCK to you! Everything was silver or perch color, Husky Jerks in Blue/chrome worked well, especially on the Northerns. Silver Renoskys caught a couple of the walleyes, and were killers on the sheepshead (like that is what you are after!!). Tip all baits with a part of a crawler-I tried a part of a "Gulp" worm and didn't catch a fish on the lures. The gulp was also also bulkier and took some of the action away from the lures, maybe that is why the fish(any fish) didn't bite.

Times too-Thanks for the info-I didn't know about the Southtowns Tourney and can appreciate the non-info at this time. I have 2 1/2 weeks to gather info, and always appreciate the help from my fellow Walleye Centrallers.I will be keeping my eyes peeled for your posts...
