The middle of the lake is hit and miss, minnows and Lindys working best. Be ready for wind and lots of it, been one #### of a windy spring. Oh yea and it is lower than it's EVER been since they filled her, you can thank the corp for that! So boat with care, good luck.

I just got back from 5 days on Sakakawea. We fished the Newtown area up as far as White Earth Bay and down as far as Van Hook. The water is VERY low. Trees are everywhere and you have to take it slow and steady. We saw a few props and lower units that had been damaged. The water is pretty dirty as the Yellowstone and Missouri are both coming in heavy (too bad they are dropping the water level as fast as it is coming in). If I were going I would fish Van Hook or McKenzie Bay. We caught mainly saugers, mostly 14-15 inches with a few scattered walleyes mixed in. The other ironic thing was that 3 of the five days, the lake was glass calm.

We just got back, had a great trip. The fish were a little slow, marks tons of fish, jigs and minnows mostly also tried a half crawler and picked up a couple. Tried cranks didn't go 30yds and bam a 3 lber but that was the only one. the wind blew all three days but really bad on weds and thurs. all in all it was a great trip thanks Mike the crawler bite should be on in a week or so.
