I have never been there before. Is the fishing decent the second week of July? What part of the lake should be doing better than another area at that time of the season? Any help or response's are appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mike

Try edsbaitshop.com, good info and good bait when you do go fishing there. they have weekly updating and tips on fishing different months. If it warms up fish will be deeper 20-25ft, maybe even 30ft. the lake is very high so there will be some new structure. Many places to fish. The bridge by the casino is a good place to start!

Another good bet is Woodlands Resort. They are known for having the best guides on the lake and the guides are quite friendly and know DL very well. We usually use one of their guides the first day of our trip and they always put us on really good fish. Mitchell's guide service is what they are called. Good luck and the fishing is awesome.

I agree with you reweasel. Definitely go with Mitchells if you decide on a guide. We tried a few from Minnewaska and they were terrible. Mitchells has the best reputation.
