I used a book called "Do it yourself rod building" By Bill Stinson. The book was put out by Frank Amato publications P.O. box 02112 Portland Oregon 97202 Phone (503) 236-2305

Check the archive here, as this one comes up periodically. One thing you may want to do is either get in a rod building class if that is available to you, or find someone close by who builds rods and can mentor you. Depends where you're at. Other than that, links that Mattman left up are a good source.
