His report is from the extreme western basin at the end of the Toledo Shipping Channel. I heard it was another tough day out of Lorain - fish are still there...

FreeByrd, are the fish still in the same area as last weekend? Can't decide whether to do walleyes or the bullets

From what I've heard - yes. I may go for steelhead for a few hours on Friday late morning before heading to Put In Bay for the weekend.

Going after snappers Steve?
I did the same yesterday afternoon in a little closer to Stony point than you were fishing. Between 2 - 6:30pm 30 eyes, 1 steelhead and a 15# king Salmon (that is a first for me). I have seen other people catch them, but it is certainly rare around that area. Jet 20s 80 feet back. Spoon color didn't matter, you just had to keep them in the water once we found the fish.

If I was to go out of that area tomorrow I would launch in the Vermilion River. Best fishing yesterday seemed to be around Cranberry Creek.

Glad to hear the walleye bite is good near the turn a around. I got out late yesterday after work and tried near Locust and Crib Reef. That was my hot spot last year according to my journal. Not very good for me last night. Some big sheephead and smallmouth were all I could get. I know where I won't be fishing saturday.
