Going up sat. to do some fun fishing. I read reports on the walleye, I am wondering about the smallmouth? Has anyone caught any yet? Just looking for a starting point.
Walleye. try around the 32/18 lines to the 33/19 lines. Dipsies and spoons have been working best there.as far as the smallmouth , that depends on where you are puttin in at. lorain, by St. Anthonys, Vermilion, go west to Sherod Park, or ruggles. Huron, go to ruggles or go west to the humps past the pier. good luck and good fishin.

Fished Sat, Mon, Tues, Weds picked up walleye drifting and trolling all days. Didn't get limits but caught lots of fish. Fished small area in front of "Castle" to the Grand Harbor condos (west of Vermilion and just east of Cranberry Creek), 23-26 fow. Caught a nice smallmouth on a purple colored Reef Runner. Most of the walleye came on worm harnesses with green beads & copper blades. There were several charter boats driftng that area, too. It made for a great day without fighting the waves all the way out to the sandbar and back. The winds were primarily out of the west and southwest 3 days and the other out of the west switching to northwest. Heard other reports of walleye in as shallow as 18' between Sherod Park and west to the Castle".
Good luck and good fishing
