View Full Version : brest bay
at this point in the season i don't usually find many eyes in the bay, but the water is still only at 70 degrees and the fish are hanging around. we spent a plesant arternoon and evening there and picked up 1 limit. 1 on a tot 1 on a reef runner and the rest on bb's and spinners. nothing after dark.

Jake...How were the weeds? I tried to troll last weekend around the 3 stacks and out by e-bouy and weeds were a problem. Not necessarily the huge clumps, but after the lines were in the water for a few minutes they all had to be cleaned. I was running tots and spoons off my big boards. We marked a lot of fish but didn't get anything going. Got frustrated and gave up after an hour or so. Thought of heading into the bay but didn't try it.
I'm thinking of burning some gas this Sunday and heading out by f can on the border to the east of middle and west sister. Has anyone been out that way and if so, are weeds an issue there too? thanks.
in general the weeds wern't a problem. there were a few here and there but, no big clumps. changing colors and clearing small fish helped to keep the lines clean. we pulled lines a couple of times to check when we were approaching waypoints. stained water and the cold front were the biggest problem.
