Did anyone hear how the vote for 2 rods in MN came out?

Bill HF242 was laid over. From what I heard the DNR raised cane over the idea, stating that it would hurt the quality of the fisheries. I guess then that they believe the fishing in the Dakotas and WI is poor........

Look at the weights pulled at the Peck PWT last August and tell me that Two Rod regulations will create poor fisheries!!!! Don't think so. Two rods are only dangerous (or an advantage)in the hands of someone who knows how to use them both!!!

I'm not sure what you mean by "laid over". I just checked on the House website and it lists the status as being referred to committee.

I heard somewhere that the 2 lines and portable fish house exemption were being packaged together, and were to become a part of a broader natural resources bill.

Here's hoping this passes. I don't think it makes any sense that we can fish 2 lines in the winter but not in the summer.

Has anyone ever tried using planer boards and letting the board out halfway, clipping on a release clip and then a length of line with a deep running crankbait on it (like a slider when downrigger fishing) and then letting the board out the rest of the way? (or is that illegal too?) I know it wouldn't be east to land a fish on that other line, but if the angler walked back to the bow of the boat and held the rod up high, you could scoop the fish with a long net (or handline it in?)

Just trying to see if this would be legal/plausible.

That would not be legal in MN because you have 2 hooks. besides it would create a mess and the board would not run correctly. We have tried.
