Question regarding fishing the North end of the Lake. I am going to be at the lake mid February and was wondering what the ice fishing is like about around the stump area. Would like to try for Walleye but at the same time fish for some pan fish. Any suggestions? Always have fished south end. Thank you

People have been going out off Poplar Grove launch area.No reports
of anybody doing any good however.Ice conditions are three to four inches, but thicker in other areas.Still kinda early to tell.Best areas for walleye are the sand flats off Westford.Thats down from the Welcome Inn over on the Pa. side. With the weather staying cold, ice
conditions should just improve.

LCL,
Would like to plan a trip in early april. When does the ice typically move out (I realize this all depends on weather) and will the lake levels be getting higher or do they wait until later in the spring?
We were up in mid-November and navigating those shallow waters was interesting :)
thanks for any info...

By mid to late Mar.the ice is nornaly gone and water levels come up due to the spring thaw. Hope It's a early spring i've had enough of this winter. LCL

There is lots of ice on the lake. There are several open pockets of water but you cannot get a boat out on the lake at this point. If you have any questions feel free to email me. I live up at the lake. Warm today and tomorrow there will be a drop in temp and snow accum. Monday night through the rest of the week.

was there this sunday and lake was still 95% iced over........however on the PA side of the causeway that launch across from the lil bit resturant was iced over from where you dump the boats in out about 100 to maybe 150 yards out after that you had some open water along the causeway 100 yards wide all the way past that tunnel on the PA side.........there were several guys jigging from shore around the tunnel......my point is that with the rigt wind it won,t take much at all to free that launch up and than you can get a boat in and fish ( limited ) open water..........there is also open water at the tunnel on the ohio side but as of sunday evening there was no way to get to it........talked with a local angler up there and he told me the perch and crappie fishing has been real good off that point up at manning tuttle beach area.....some real dandy,s being caught thur the ice still, hope this helps a bit.

The lake is still pretty well locked in with ice no boating yet. I hope with the rain that's supposed to be coming and some wind it might break up some.Duck&Drake is open the number is 440-293-2439. LCL
