Curious how you have been doing going out of Sterling launch. I want to make a trip over there but it is over an hour drive for me. I am retired so I would like to go during the week. e-mail me if you wish.
Thanks, Al
not sure how the ice is but it should be good to get out of the launch at sterling. you need to check the ice in the channelwhen you get to where it goes in betweenthe little island and the shore. there is current flowing through it and it narrows there so be careful. i will go to the left (west) of the channel if i can and go around then go about ahundred or so yards and start making your turn towards the lake. make sure you check it in this area just to be sure.

Actually was more interested in how the fishing for eye's has been. I am trying to decide whether to go to Sterling which is much closer for me or to go to Sag. bay. Hoping to get some info that would help in making that decision. Thanks, Al

i have not been out since last week. call brest bay marina for more updated reports.i would say from what i saw ,the ice should still be good and the fish will be in 20-23 feet of water.saginaw has been great this year ,but there too many people and the fishing is dying out from the pressure. if you can fish the bay right in front of the beach in 12-15 feet of water . just a hunch .
