Sorry so vague Ryan, just assumed it was not worth the risk to go out right now, I guess it is to some. To each his own as they say.

I got a few reports of a lot of fish caught today and the ice was still 8+inches. Cold forecasts for the next few days should help I hope

The airboat broke thru several times between Catabwa and South Bass yesteray. One islander that came across with a hovercraft reported lots of "weep holes" and thin ice. The guides fished off South Bass with no problems yesterday and lots of fish were caught but they were also pulling shanties.

The Bay water is like coffee and cream, not worth the effort right now and may not be any good for the remainder of the ice season.

Two pick-ups went thru the ice just off the ramp at Cat. Park Sunday. They retreived them Mon, one a total loss, the other with heavy damage.

They are fishing off the east side near Buckeye. Lots of fish being caught. West side is muddy.

I saw that the other day. What numbnuts would leave their trucks on the ice all day, especially on Erie were currents can knock down the ice thickness in hours. Not to mention they parked right next to each other. BRILLANT!!! I'll stick to the inland ponds.

Buckeye Island is off the east point of South Bass Island. During high water levels it is an island but during low water it's connected to South Bass by a gravel bar. If you have ever headed towards Kelleys Island from Put-In-Bay thru the channel between Middle Bass and South Bass, Buckeye will be the last island to the south before you hit the open water.
Ice is going down hill fast.

Took a short trip off the camp today. Ice is shot not safe!! Looked to be open out a mile or two. Stay safe, boats will be floating soon. Now we need some wind!!
