Using the spring given in the kit worked well after drilling the suggested holes down the front of the board, however, when i trolled around 2.5 mph the flag would run about half way back all the time. Any suggestions? MAybe use a heavier spring in high speed situations?

I believe the flag is OK. They are made to run at a slightly backward angle! If you think their to far down, try a heavy spring! Tight Lines, Bob Ritt

Go to Coast to Coast hardware store and buy the C-73 spring. It will hold the plug, plus a 2 to 3 0z. weight. It seems to work a lot better than the standard off shore spring
