We've had strong east winds today, so the American side of the river is going to have a lot of ice. Supposed to blow like heck tomorrow as well. If you're absolutely sold on going out, just go slow and keep a constant look out.
Not to be a smart a$$, but no ice is "soft". If it was, it would be water.

What is the latest condition of the Detroit River. The river cam shows a ton of ice, am I seeing the wrong thing? I hope I am.

Looking at the satellite pics Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River look rather ice free. Lake Huron looks like it will explode with the wind and rain expected tomorrow.

Guys,
There has been NO ICE on the Trenton Channel the last two nights.
We were the last boat off the river last night at 10:00 pm. Did pretty good too. :)

Looking at the detroit river cam it shows no ice coming down the river from the Dossin. They should not have canceled the GNWC pulled the plug to quick. See everyone this weekend

Canuck,
Thanks for the compliments! Not too bad for a website that I do for fun?
