Thinking of hitting Lake Pepin for some EARLY action this spring when the temps hit the 40+ mark. Is Pepin open year round? Or when is typical ice out? Thanks for the info...

Lake Pepin does not stay open year around. It opens about the same time everything else opens up here in southern MN. I would suggest fishing the river toward Red Wing more until late April hits. The fishing in Pepin seems to be dead until then. But as May gets here it turns red hot! We usually hit the north end of Pepin starting in late April and then hit the main lake a few weeks later as fish filter back down into the lake.
