Trapr-
I'd check with the Sportsman's Cove in Webster for information. They have friendly people who have always been honest with me when it comes to fishing reports... here is the link to their information:

I'm sure you are already out there fishing by the time you read this so please post how you did when you get back as I'm going to try to get out there in the next 2 weeks. I've had the best luck for walleyes in the shallow water in the Grenville area starting with a slow drift over the rock points or up within 20 feet of the tree lines with a jig and minnow, once you find them a slip bobber rig typically will work best as it keeps your bait slightly off the bottom (you can fish 2 lines one slip bobber and one jig and see which out produces the other). For Crappies you typically gotta get right in the trees. They do very well from shore in the eve off the Grenville road.

I spent Friday and part of Saturday on South Waubay and had a blast. Friday's overcast weather and bit of wind produced great fishing. Two of us boated over 50 walleyes - small jigs on windswept points tended to be the hot bite for us. Sunny Saturday wasn't quite as productive but still a good time. The males were full of the white stuff, so I am thinking this week might be spawning time. I would guess (heavy emphasis on guess) that it might slow down for a week or so and then pick up again. Last year, the majority of the fish we caught (and released, of course) were 12.5 to 14 inches... this year, they were mostly 14 to 16.5 inches. Great time. Yellow, white, and pink jigs were the ticket. 8 to 10 feet of water. Good luck.
