Hi all,
Has anyone been around the Kelley's Island area or the castle/vermillion area of Lake Erie? If so, what is the water clarity like? I'm just looking for some of the latest conditions. I'll be heading up from cincinnati area. With gas prices well over $2/gal, I didn't want to waste a trip up there. Thanks for any info!

I just picked my boat up and I drove around Cataba and Mazurics.

The water didn't look to bad on the west side of Kellys and there were several boats up that way. I also saw boats between Rattlesnake and the Bass Islands. It was still blowing pretty good!!

Put our boat in today. We went for a ride to PIB. We traveled between Kellies and S. Bass. Water Clarity continued to improve as we went North. I was surprised by how clean the water was as we rounded the curve between South Bass and Middle Bass. There were some trollers using boards between the islands. We went to Tippers for Lunch then went around the West side of South Bass back to West Harbor. There were a dozen - 15 boats trolling between The bass Islands and green & Rattle Snake. I stopped to check the marks, marks were few but around 20-25 ft. Believe most fish were high. Heard that people were catching some nice eye's but not limiting out. Water Clarity remained good around the islands. As we got South of S. Bass, water clarity continued to get worse. By the time we hit Mouse Island the water was MUD!

I live by Vermilion,the water is like choc. milk.There's been a N/NE blow all week.I'm heading up to the reefs looking for clear water out by Niagara Sat.I go by Finlander Ch. 79.Give me a holler if you come up.Good Luck,Dennis
