Good luck on information on walleye fishing out of lorain, As i have been asking all around the 'net' with no replies.
I beleive that walleye fishing in the central basin seems to be top secret.....lol
Keep the boat floating, good luck.

Central basin fishermen seem to get a little jealous...lol..Its a hard run program down here, and fishing spots are kinda minimal...lol...I try to give as much information as i can online, but I always get one or two guys each year who accuse me of lying or bragging, or not giving them the exact numbers depths and presentations...crying shame you gota hold some1s hand to get em on fish....

ANyways...Fishin outa these areas is slow. I fish more east from these areas and have seen a pattern that we get fish in good numbers about a month after these areas do. Usually bout july fishing explodes in eastern ohio and pennsylvania waters, that is if the hot weather keeps up...Friend of mine charters out of these areas and really doesnt do alot of walleye charters till at least the second week of june. Just mainly does smallies and perch till then...

So probaly lookin at june-early august to be very productive in these areas you are asking about...

hope this helps...

Greg, We fished out of Vermilion last Sat. We only took 3 eyes and lost one. We were out in front of Sherrod Park. Took 2 in 16ft of water and 1 in 21 fow. Heard some guys out in front of the castle took 7 in 30 fow. We fished all around from Vermilion to Lorain. The fish are scattered in that area and just haven't turned on. We trolled cranks. Maybe once the weather stabilizes the fishing will take off.

You might want to give Erie outfitters a call
Craig---440-949-8934
He'll have a handle on the Lorain- Cleveland bite all summer.
He's located on Lake Road near the Avon boat ramp.
He has some of the best capitans in Lorain in his shop everyday.

You would probably get more info, IF there was more info to give. The fishing is just a bit slow right now due to some weather changes and fish movements. happens this time every year. (I'm suprised were not hearing how Lake Erie is dead about now) :)) It'll pick up soon and there will be reports.

If I agree with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Airwave, I agree with you Lake Erie is sure the best walleye lake in the world and is very much alive. Having said that, the big fish population is WAY down. In two spring trips during perfect weather im mid-April; we put 50 walleyes in the boat and not one was a 10 lber. I know we get spoiled on Erie, but in prior years sorting through 50 fish would have meant around 4-5 10 lbers...that I catch and release anyway. Also, it's evident in all the walleye tournaments both national and regional that they aren't as many big ones coming to the scales.

Let's hope the great hatch from three years ago grows up fast. In the meantime, we will "just" have to deal with a lot smaller fish. The big fish catch was down in Huron last fall too.

Can't wait for the weather to stabilize either as you said...which has made for a spotty spring bite.

GNWC is doing a make-up tournament over that direction Sat 5/14 since they canceled the weekend of 5/1. WBSA LEWT is 5/14 out of Sandusky.

There have been guys having decent quality fish days when the weather cooperates. Heard waves were coming over the Cleveland breakwalls Thurs.

The castle is just east of Crannberry Creek marina. West out of Vermillion a mile or so, Just watch the shoreline and you will se it.

Sorry - just the WBSA LEWT event, no GNWC event. I goofed.

Heard it was a tough bite. Had rain, but the lake wasn't rough.
