Mike, check out the fishing reports section. There is a good thread there started a few days ago about the in-lines. I think if you get either the Off-shore or Mr. Walleye boards you should be all set.

Don't bother with anything else but OFFSHORE.
Trust me, they are the best.

Mike .. the Lil' Yellow Birds will work @ slower speeds as long as the waters not too choppy. They aren't big-water boards.

In my experience the Off shore boards track better in all conditions.
A key element not to forget are the tattle flags.
These flags allow you to "read" a light bite or weed hung up on the lure. By adjusting the spring placement on the board you can adjust the resistance applied and therefore run any bait from a Reef Runner to a crawler harness and split shot.
Also if you are new to running boards, this set-up is probably the easiest to immediately understand and accurately read.
Flag down... FIsh on, snag or fouled lure. The worst thing you can do when fishing boards is to troll a dead board (a lure that won't catch a fish due to some problem)
The only thing they can't help you with is finding the spot with the fish... I usually use an "x" on the side of the boat to remember where I caught the fish... sometimes it works.
Good Luck!

Why are Off Shore hands down better?

If I understand your post, you will be pulling with electric only? If that is true the Mr. Walleye come out ahead. Much cheaper, much easier to use. With electric only you will not be going as fast or as rough so you won't need the advantages (real
or imagined) of the offshores. My opinion, could be wrong, could be right.

I agree with Raybob.
That's the only reason I still have Yellow Birds!
Off Shore's are my fav for everything else.

I own both Offshore & Sideliner...So I can olny speak of these 2
STAY AWAY from Sideliners...barely used them since bought my Offshores. If you decide on Offshores definitely get the tattle flags & also make sure they have the red releases. (the same ones in snap weight kit)If they dont have them purchase them seperately.

OffShore Planer Boards offer the best planing device on the market. I would suggest those.

Here are a few reasons,
I used yellow birds and I've seen them dive and release at the slightest wave, not a good thing.
The offshores have good clips and they can be improved upon with another offshore product.
They are durable, just ask my kids!
They always track true, no diving or flipping, ever!
The tattle flags look nice, don't have them but I would like to.
They float upright if the become detached, easy to find this way.
I could come up with more but you get the picture.
