So I finally tried the northend. Got there around 12:00pm tried bottom bouncing, lindy, and finally slip bobber. Needless to say I didn't catch any fish untill 2:00pm on slip bobbering. I came across a huge school of walleyes and couldn't get them to bite while slow drifting. So I set up shop and drop the bobber. I limited out by 4:00pm and the rain came down hard. That was the fastest/shortest time ever for me to limit on the lake.

P.S. Alot of boaters thought I was crazy slip bobbering while they drift by me, like I was in there way. I just waved and smile at them while the bobber went down again. Fish size was: 19,19,17,16 1/2. Oh did I mention my first three fish was: 25,22 1/2,20.

jigger32,

Were you using Lindy's and leeches? Pull any blades and crawlers?

I am a fan of bobber fishing yet would prefer to be moving. Why do you suppose that your floats are killing them?

Do you think the Thursday/Friday cold front will make the ultra slow bobber tactics the way to fly Saturday?????

Do you put your bobber stop so that your leech sits 6" off the bottom or do you just look at where they appear to be sitting on your graph?

Thanks-Chris

Sark2,

On gravel or cobble I usually start 6"-10" off bottom and a little higher in the mud (because of the slurry on the top). At night I also go higher so they can see the bait against the sky. If I have several rods going (enough people) I always keep one higher.

Took my son 4 yrs. old for the first time up with my 2 other brothers.

Sloppy Joe is HOT!!! If your all about catching and not eating go there now!!! Caught 19 1/2", 27 7/8", 24 3/4", 20 1/4", 22". 12", 14". Also caught 20+ Jumbos too. As you can see between the three of us we keep only one. It was sure lots of fun. He (son) enjoyed it alot. He was much rather pretending that he was driving the boat! LOL!
