I have seen quite a few salmon fisherman fishing the face of the dam. Not too many around the intakes. Saw a nice one being landed. I don't fish for them so i'm not sure what they are hitting.

The walleye are heading down to the lower end of Oahe. A real good bite has been going on in shallower water. I caught 7 nice walleye, from 15-20" in the Twin Bay area last weekend. Anchored on an outside point mudline and caught them on jig and minnow. 1 on a spinner and crawler and 1 on a lindy rig and minnow. Also caught some nice catfish and smallies.

thanks a lot for the info. we don't get to fish with my dad very often so we are really hoping to put him on some fish. with your help we should be able to. also, can you tell me where to put the boat in if we want to salmon fish?

There is a boat ramp on the west side of the dam. You couldn't find a ramp closer to the action. :)

Twin Bays is just a short boat ride west of the dam. South side of the lake. You will find some walleye's there.

Peoria Flats is a good summer location for walleye, that is on the north side of the lake across from twin bays. Troll with spinner/crawlers or crankbaits. Most of the other spots will be further up stream towards spring/cow creeks.

Reggie:

Go to www.oahewalleye.com and go to the fishing report. This site is for a guide out there and he gives some really good info.

Good Fishing.
