Traveled from Omaha Nebraska to Lansing Iowa for a four day house boat trip up the Mississippi river from Lansing Iowa to La Crosse Wisconsin on a 54 foot house boat we rented from S & S Rentals out of Lansing. The boat was totally self contained in all aspects. Never realized how beautiful the Mississippi river was. Great sandy beaches to camp on and slow moving water to swim in. Loaded with trees, islands, backwater lakes, the way a real river should look. I compared it with the Missouri River that runs past Omaha Nebraska, the Missouri River is a ditch compared to the Mississippi River. Thanks to all the Politicians and the Army Corps of Engineers for supporting the Phantom Barge Industry in Missouri and making Our Miissouri River the Dirty Ditch it is.
