We could not do anything out there today. No keepers. Water was rough, tried everything. Only undersized ones. The radio chatter was not too optimistic either.

I agree. We were on the water this morning around six and noticed the weeds were pretty thick up in close to the point. We decided to try to cast some meat first to find out if the weeds were going to be too bad to troll. We picked up a few farm animals and a catfish but no eyes. We moved out a bit deeper and set up for trolling and couldn't keep the lines clear of weeds. We were lucky we didn't really hang up with any big patches but there were so many strands of grass on top that your lines were always getting covered. We started up in around 21ft of water and eventually headed out to 30' towards West Sister and only ended up with 3 keepers. We probably caught around 25 smalleyes but couldn't find the good ones. It didn't sound like anyone really found em this weekend. We should have anchored up for the perch!

We started in 16' of water off Crane Creek at 6 am on sunday. Marked nothing and caught nothing. We then headed out to 25' water just west of A can. The screen was lit up. We managed to get 5 keepers, maybe 12 throwbacks and 12 junk. We trolled stingers at 2.5 mph. The darker colors seemed best, blues and greens. The bite shut down around 11 am. We then moved west between the intake and lighthouse. Picked up a keeper within 5 minutes, 22' water. Couldn't get another. Quit at 12:30. Total catch was 6 walleye, 13 pounds.

Heard the perch bite was poor on sunday.

Heading to Erieu on thursday for a few days of steelie fishing.

Hey TRN, never give up! Glad we decided not to by a michigan license.
