i think i was the first to venture on canada today,....got a lot of dinks..so dont worry about what i said on the last post footdoc...there are still fish in long lake...canada is a small lake off the north end of long lake ...kinda hard to find...i fished 6 ft and got nothin...went to 20 ft and go a lot of small crappie and three decent gills...the crappie were on the bottom and easy to entice...if i saw a suspended fish...10 ft or so...it would be a gill and medium size...so even tho i thought i caught the last fish in long lake, evidently some up in canada survived my prowess....i would guess the lake michigan perch fishery is safe...steve....wonder if getting a lot of small crappie is a good sign...or does it mean to try another spot?...

What do you mean Canada Lake is hard to find? You make it sound like you and Clutch Cargo went exploring and found the lost world. We go in there a lot in the soft water months and it is decent for pan fish. I started my day at Wahob and caught about 12 dink bluegills, one dink perch and lost a few suspended fish over 21' of water. Went out to the new house and organized the garage for a while and thought about going to Lake Eliza for crappie/gills. Ran out of time and settle for Long. Went back to my old stomping grounds and noticed someone has been tresspassing on my spot. It did not matter as I set up by 4 and quit at 8 with 9 decent crappies and 13 gills. Can you say VEXILAR? So you caught some poor, tiny blind crappies in Canada - yes your prowness is once again shinning thru@! Might get up early and hit lake eliza before church. Not sure and have an office dinner tomorrow night.

Crappie Hunter is only being polite which is not my forte with certain loud ice fisherman. I hit lake eliza early this am before church and caught one large perch and 4 gills. Not much for the effort of 2 hours of fishing but I am learning the lake. Probably be out again next Thursday or so.
