Three weeks ago the ice fishermen were chomping at the bit as the ice was thickening on the bays of our local river (the Susquehanna). Then the rain and warm weather hit and the boats came back out! According to my wife, I've managed to hit the river on 15 out of the past 20 days. Only once did I fail to get a limit of nice eaters. I'm not sure of the reason..maybe it's just because we can fish it now..but the fishing here has been phenominal this season. I've released numerous big females..the largest taping at 29 inches (decent on Erie, but Huge here). The weather for this week calls for temps approaching 50! Fortunately, I can come to work early and shoot down for the afternoon bite! I know that most of your boats are tucked away and this isn't meant to bust chops..well maybe a little! Gilligan..Road trip? Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Hey Sluggs where ya been? Hows Bobbers family doing?

The flooding is not just from the warm temps but also Eyedoktrs tears from all the melting ice!!

I would love a river trip, I'll give you a call if I can get free.

Pete,
You are right. I'm gettin a hip replaced on the 25th and won't be able to get after them til mid March anyway...so a super early Spring, with guys braggin about huge walleyes in some of my good old standby early spots would not sit well.

Good luck with the ice fishin.

Fred..Bobber's grandson is hanging in there. He appears to be responding well to the chemo and even spent Christmas at home. Bobber's recovering from hernia surgery right now..but being as old and decrepid as he is..you'd think he just had a heart/lung transplant! Man..what a whimp!

Pete..Don't take me wrong..I'm really hoping for ice..just not around here! You guys that think you can walk on water have something wrong with you!

Jim..Best of luck with the hip replacement! I've got several friends who have gone through it and have yet to hear of a problem. I'm sure I'll see you running around next summer! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Jim, get that hip back in shape real soon. We're not old enough to be sitting on the sidelines yet.
