What insurance companies have turned you down? I was going to go on line and post the same question because I was turn down by American Family, yesterday. They would insure my boat for pleasure but because of my tournaments, will not cover me on the liability. I am going to fish the USFA Wisconsin and 1-2 MWC. My insurance agent did all she could and got different messages from different people at their corp offices. They finally put it up before some board at American Family and they declined to insure my boat if I fish tournaments. My insurance agent is now worried as she knows that there are people doing tournaments. She is trying to get the word out that they will not cover damage in a tournament. Pretty scary if you would find that out after something happens? I really wonder how many people know that about their insurance at tournaments? I wonder how many truely ask their agent about these tournaments?

I need help too.. I will watch your post.

The only option that I know of is going through the insurance that the NPAA set up.

"Through the strength of the NPAA, registered members will be offered the following insurance options at substantial savings: "
1) Liability coverage for tournaments
2) Hull protection
3) Guide insurance
4) Boat contents

I would try insuring through boat US. They are probably one of the largest, and insure all kinds of watercraft. try 1800-395-2628.

They also discount for those who have passed a certified boating safety course such as Power Squadron.

I've been calling around this week, Boats US rate was 260 a year for same policy, AAA was 460. Easy choice. I didn't ask if they would cover me in tournament though.
