Small planer boards???

I'm looking for a small planer board to use when the lake is like glass and can be used on either side of the boat? Does anyone make something like this and has anyone used a real small board? thanks for the info.

I have the same question. I often longline troll an inland lake at night in shallow water with small stickbaits when it is generally calm. I have a pair of offshore boards but they seem like they would be an overkill. I am thinking of of getting a pair of yellow-birds that are made out of styrofoam and much lighter and just set them up in-line so they are reeled in with the fish.

Take a look at the Willie (sp?) boards. Smaller than the Offshore and they can be changed left or right.

I've seen church tackle advertize a slightly smaller size board then there regular "mr. walleye board". It is or was called the "TX-12". maybe check out their website to see if still offered.

I believe Cabela's has both sizes of Mr. Walleye boards. I was considering a set of the small ones myself, so would appreciate anyone with experience weighing in on this. Thanks.

The Big Jon Mini Otter is about 5 inches long and 2 inches high. Great for very calm water.

I use my TX-12's extensively and I'm really suprised that they are not in wider use. For pulling baits the size of Shad Raps 5's and 7's, or sticks in reasonably calm water they can't be beat. They have the excellent church line clip and their smaller size makes them easy to handle and "read". They are very easy to set and track well for their size. There is no doubt when you have a fish on or a weed for that matter. Just to test their capability, I have hung a deep diving Reef Runner off one to see what it could do and in my opinion this bait is definitely too much for the little board. But for smaller baits this board is perfect and offers significant advantages over larger ones. JC
