Beckley, W.Va? If yes, are you a bridge jumper? Anyway, look for major current breaks or fish below dams. Where you find eddies, fish the corners where the water changes direction and the slack water in the middle. Sauger tend to be deeper than walleye. Holes and edges below dams are a great places to start looking at this time of year. Start subscribing to the Walleye Central and Walleye In-sider for a good education on seasonal locations.
Hi Jeff in Beckley! Long ways for you to the Ohio River. If I were you I'd head to Point Pleasant, Gallipolis area. Got buddies down that way that lay into em. All you'll have to do is look for the boats since its Sat. Racine locks and dam upstream would be my choice. Another good bet is the Kanawa River. My brother just called me and he got into a couple of dozen 12" crappie this evening. I live up in New Martinsville. If you were up this way I could get you into some. Anyway, have a nice trip. How come West Virginia doesnt have any walleye clubs? Hint Hint! Tight Lines! Russell
