Thinking about fishing near the power plant this weekend. Are there any reports of eyes being caught?
Don't want to waste a trip if the bite is too slow.

How's the fishing been on the Michigan side?

Thanks.

I would consider that report more than enough to convince me....

"C&R trip...pre-spawn hogs....etc...."

Those fish are wall hangers dude....

But to each their own...I'd release 'em too!

I would go for it!

We got our first limits last Sunday just a little North of Locust Reef. The water has been warming up a little each day which just makes it a little better. Hopefully the storms the end of the week don't get things too muddy.

I like Kim Karnes raspy voice, but even 20 years ago i don't recall her being that cute.

The predicted warm weather should get the wally gators going even better. I wish i was up at the lake instead of at work !!!

Well my arm has been twisted enough. We are going, we hope to be on the water by sunlight. Where is the best place to launch? Last year we went on another guys boat and he had a slip in the Marina directly across from Happy Hooker, not sure of the name. Also is there a channel people go to in that area where people talk about their success or lack of?

I think I'll drive up from Dayton as well and would like to leave my boat for the following weekend too! Know anyplace to store it for a a couple weeks? What channel do you want to be on so we can chat? 2 boats are always better than one when trying to figure these fish out!

Channel 79 seems to be popular..I guess. The name of the boaut is Trainwreck. Likely be out there both Sat. and Sun if the fishing is good.

Any big fish in your catch or all 1-3" jacks. Just curious. Thanks.

Caught a two man limit in two hours Thurs. morning on green and blue hair jigs with minnows in 10-12 feet of water in front of Long Beach. The bite died for us as soon as the wind shifted to the east. For a while it was pretty fast with lots of nets flying. Then almost nothing going on. Good luck this weekend.

Yep, Gill was right on the money :rock-on: bout' the bite Thursday morning. We stayed for a while longer then he did as we came all the way from Akron to fish so we made a day of it. We did just as well if not better than he did as we got 30 with a bunch of misses. One was a 31 1/2" that tipped the scales at 11lbs 7oz and she was all spawned out. Was wondering what to do if we caught any big females, so with her being all spawned out, the decision was easy.I think she'll look nice on the wall. Here's a picture link:

Hi Tim, 5 of the fish were over 5lbs, the other 3 were around 2 1/2 we culled our limit from several fish. We started at 7 and fished til the sun went down what a great way to spend a day,,,except for the coast guard waiting at the dock to hassle everyone, its bad enough when there werent any lights at catawba park,no docks yet but the coast guard shows up and wants to inspect? Im sure they were looking for alcohol or whatever, just a pain,,,shadowalker

Yes, the reports are true, the reefs are on fire right now. Was out yesterday and picked up our limit in less than 3 hours, with two Fish Ohio's. We fished another 4 or 5 hours for C&R since it was an absolutely beautiful day. We caught ours trolling east of the reef structure, first 8 fish on 5 different lures and 6 different colors. Just had to find the active pod. The jiggers were limiting out faster than the trollers especially in the morning.

So what was the Coast Guard looking for? Typical life jackets, fire extinguisher, boat numbers? Or, did it seem like they were looking for alcohol? You are allowed to have beer as long as the driver is not intoxicated, right?
