Has anyone been fishing these area's lately? Was thinking of taking my inlaws for a day? What is the bite, where, and depth. Thanks for your input, just trying to make it a worth while trip.

Thanks

I went out last weekend and Pounded the walleyes. Caught limit with alot of 17-19 inchers and a week and a hlf ago cought a 23 incher that weighed 6.3lbs thru it back of course. water temp was arround 48 - 50 witch means the span is in the works. The next few weekends there are tournaments and that might slow the fishing down.

Great, just what I didn't want to here. Where are the tournaments out of so I can avoid the ramp overload. What part of the system were you fishing??

Don't have a report for Platte (haven't been there this year), but thought I'd warn you that the Platte Chamber tourney is this weekend out of Dock 44.

I won't be there, but I thought I'd pass it along for you.

Sounds like the weather is going to be ugly this weekend. Has anyone been fishing with worms. I heard guys have been running to Elm Creek with great success but if the wind is going to houl it will be a tough trip!

Platte is overloaded with tournaments. Good luck getting in and out for the next month on any boat ramp in Francis Case. The best bite is south of Platte winner bridge on west side in 14 fow - Elm creek is over 20 miles by boat - at $3.10 a gallon you go for it pal. You don;t need to go that far. Black jig with wite tail.

Worms? Are you legit wall 1 ranger? come on - there is a very good bite going on right now south of the bridge - I agree there is no need to run at 3 bucks a gallon, you must be a Chevron stockholder, I agree on the black jig - that has been the color this spring, who knows why...

Bite is far from shut down 30 - 40 fish per day 2 foot of water to 30 foot of water. Live baiting, casting, or cranking. Anything you wanna do. Fishing is HOT HOT HOT. Cigars to 15 inchers to 20 inchers to the occassional 23 incher.

A nice word from the platte chamber of commerce

What do you mean from the platte chamber. I have to drive over 100 miles to get there and I was just there last Thursday-Sunday. Look at the top 10 places from the Chamberlain Cedar Shore tournament last Saturday and Sunday April 29th and 30th. At least half of the teams fished just north of Platte. Now tell me the bite is not HOT!!!

The cranks are hot right now, if you like to fish 25-30 ft you are better off useing lead core to pull out them 20" plus. If you just want a limit then fish at 2 - 12 ft. godd luck to all

Your right jig man - many tournaments the next 3 weekends - that type of pressure will slow the bite down when it is that shallow - that might be what the wally popper was refering to when he stated the bite was slow. By the way - Chamberlain is hotter right now - Platte is hit -n- miss - - Good luck fellas - The Resevoir Preacher
