I'm 19 years old, i live in Antigo, Wisconin. I'm currently going to a technical college for computer networking. I would love to fish with a pro walleye fisherman to learn alittle more about the sport and hopefully make some friends. I plan on going into a fishing tournements when i get some money which probably won't be until i get out of college. I fish the local lakes around my area and my biggest walleye is 26 1/2 inches, which isn't to big, and I go to canada once a year for a week, but I haven't been able to catch any big fish. I ask if any one wants to take a amature walleye fisherman with them on some of there outings, and show me some basics. I know some trolling and jigging. I would really like to know how to fish spinner rigs. If anyone is interested please email me or call at (715)-627-4533, ask for Josh. Thank you very much. Josh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right on! I'm no Pro and live far away, but have some suggestions. Scour the net for tournaments in your area - PWT, MWC, local tournaments, etc. Try to go to weigh ins - it's pretty exciting and free - important for a college student :-). Find the tournament directors and volunteer to help out - anything - set up chairs - who knows. Be a good, helpful person first and then let them know of your interest. They may be able to help. Also, hunt around the bait & tackle shops around you - check the library also - for videos to rent. There are some really good ones out there which will expose you to other methods. Look for Masters of walleyes and In-Fisherman series.
It may be hard to find a pro to get you on the water. I bet if you offer to wash and wax someone's boat in exchange - that your odds will improve :-). You sound like you're on the right track.
Good luck.

You may want to try to get to a tournament location while the Pros are prefishing during the week. Some of them will be willing to take you out with them just to get a couple more lines in the water. There is an MWC tournament at Oconto which isn't far from you. The dates are July 14 & 15,what I would do is go to the landing at Oconto and make sure you have a life jacket with you and just talk to some of the guys as they are landing their boats to prefish. In fact lots of them would be happy for some help with launching their boats. Drop some hints or just ask some of them and they may offer to take you along, especially if you know some areas to fish that they don't know about.

Josh,
Study hard, there will definitly be a need for computer networking within the fishing industry.
The PWT comes to Red Wing, Mn this year. Practice days are May 18-22. I would be pleased to have you along for a day.
